COLLECTIONS AND RESOURSES
Currently the
Central Library Collection consists of about 20,000 volumes of
books and journals, subscription to more than 120 periodicals
/ magazines, over 6 online pay electronic periodicals
available through internet, and more than 800 non book items
(CD, DVD, Subject Floppy, Audio Cassettes etc).
BOOKS
The Books are
arranged subject wise, i.e. Physics, Electrical, Mechanical,
Management, Mathematics, Electronics, Computer,
Instrumentation, etc. on library racks. Each specified rack is
arranged according to Dewey decimal classification. Each row
of the racks is labeled with the range of class number.

COLLECTION
The reference
collection, kept near Management Section, only for in house
reference consists of Encyclopedias, Dictionaries, Handbooks,
etc.

PUBLIC ACCESS CATALOGUE (OPAC)

Library Users can access
the Library Book database through LIBSYS OPAC Module
(Library software) in the stand-alone computers. This
system has the facility of search by AUTHOR, TITLE,
SUBJECT, and/or CLASS NO. |

Search the database by
using simple search button in the right hand toolbar of
the OPAC. |

3. |
Narrow the search by using
advance or additional search options. |

4. |
Browse the entire database
alphabetically. |

5. |
Check for new additions to
the library using new arrivals button. |
|

Check for the list of
Journals using journals button. |
|
7. |
Use Help to assist for any
problems faced during any procedure. |
INTER
LIBRARY LOAN FACILITY
The Central
Library is an Institutional Member of the following Libraries:

Council Library
2.The American Library (USIS)
Faculty and
the Student library members of FIEM and FBS have free access
to the services and facilities at these libraries. The
Librarian may be contacted for more details.
BOOK BANK
SERVICE
The Library
has a Book Bank Scheme for the benefit of the students.
Students are required to make a onetime deposit Rs. 1000/-
(Rupees One thousand only) to be eligible to get two books for
one entire semester. No regular issue / return is available
under this scheme. A service charge of Rs. 100/- (Rupees One
hundred only) will be deducted for each semester and the
balance will be returned to the student on completion of their
Engineering Course.
REFERENCE
SERVICE:
The Library
maintains a separate reference collection consisting of
Encyclopedias, Dictionaries, Handbooks, and Technical Data CD
ROMs, Audio etc. The section renders short and long range
reference service . All reference book marked by “REFERENCE”
in the upper spine of the book.
SYLLABI,
PREVIOUS YEAR QUESTION PAPERS,
SAMPLE PAPERS AND SUBJECT BIBLIOGRAPHY
A separate
corner is maintained for all latest information of University
Syllabi, Previous Years Question Papers, Sample Questions and
Subject Bibliography, etc. for member users of the Central
Library.
LIBRARY
GUIDE
Uptodate
information regarding the Stock, New arrivals, Rules etc. are
displayed in the front of library for proper guidance for any
new user. The guide also indicating the MAP of the library
for the various sections such as Library Acquisition, Serials,
Circulation , OPAC, etc for identify the exact location.
PHOTOCOPY
/ REPROGRAPHY SERVICES
Photocopying
of a complete book / periodical is not allowed. Users are
individually responsible for complying with the Copyright Act.
Photocopying service @ Rs. 0.50 per exposure is available
through a private operator on the ground floor, under the
staircase.
NEWSPAPER
SERVICE
Central
Library subscribes to International, Employment, Educational
and 6 other national newspapers. Records for last two months
are readily available at the library.
